**MEDIA ADVISORY**Rock the Vote Teams Up with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros to Promote Youth Voting During Upcoming Concerts
Rock the Vote is thrilled to partner with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros to help reach its goal of registering 1.5 million young people to vote this year. The band is set to perform in Berkeley, CA, on September 7, and again in Indianapolis, IN, on September 23. Attendees will have the opportunity to register to vote on-site at the concerts and learn more about how they can have an impact in this election.
The concert series is part of Rock the Vote’s “We Will” campaign, which is aimed at mobilizing and educating young voters through music, popular culture, and new technology. Thanks to a slew of new voting restrictions passed in states across the country, young people are facing unprecedented obstacles when they head to the polls this year.
“With so many new restrictions on voting, we’ve got to make sure young people have the information they need to make their voices heard,” said Chrissy Faessen, VP of Marketing and Communication at Rock the Vote. “That’s why we are thrilled to team up with bands like Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros to reach more young and first-time voters than ever before.”

About Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros: Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros formed in 2007 after singer Alex Ebert met fellow singer Jade Castrinos outside of a cafe in downtown Los Angeles. In 2009 the 10 member troupe released their debut album Up From Below which featured the universally appealing hit “Home” as well as fan favorite’s “40 Day Dream” and “Janglin”. The past few years have been spent constantly touring the world while winning over audiences at festivals like Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Leeds, Austin City Limits and more. With their follow up album Here featuring “Man On Fire” and “That’s What’s Up” recently being released, the band will tour North America and Australia this year while a third album is expected in early 2013.
