Kentucky

Kentucky offers both excused and non-excused in-person early voting. When an excuse is required, you must:
-​Be a resident of Kentucky who is a covered voter as defined in KRS 117A.010, and will be absent from the county of your residence on the day of an election and during the days of no-excuse in-person absentee voting; or
-Have surgery, or have a spouse who has surgery, scheduled that will require hospitalization on the day of an election and during the days of no-excuse in person absentee voting; or
-Temporarily reside outside the state but still be eligible to vote in this state and will be absent from the county of your residence on the day of an election and during the days of no-excuse in-person absentee voting; or
-Be a resident of Kentucky who is a uniformed-service voter as defined in KRS 117A.010 confined to a military base on election day and during the days of no-excuse in-person absentee voting; or
-Be in your last trimester of pregnancy; or
-Have not been declared mentally disabled by a court of competent jurisdiction and, due to age, disability, or illness, are not able to appear at the polls on electi​on day and during the days of no-excuse in-person absentee voting; or
-Be a student who temporarily resides outside the county of your residence and will be absent from the county of your residence on the day of an election and during the days of no-excuse in-person absentee voting; or
-Be a person employed in an occupation that is scheduled to work during all days and all hours, which shall include commute time, the polls are open on election day and during the days of no-excuse in-person absentee voting; or
-Be an election officer tasked with election administration for the current election cycle; or
-Be a person prevented from voting in person at the polls on election day and from casting a no-excuse in-person absentee ballot on all days no-excuse in-person absentee voting is conducted because you will be absent from the county of your residence during all days and all hours no excuse in-person absentee voting is conducted.​

Mississippi

You must have one of the following excuses in order to be able to vote early in Mississippi:
-You will be away from your county of residence on election day for any reason
-You are sixty-five (65) years of age or older
-You will be unable to vote in person because you are required to be at work on election day during the times at which the polls will be open or on-call during the times when the polls will be open
-You are a student, teacher or administrator at any college, university, junior college, high, junior high, or elementary grade school whose studies or employment at such institution necessitates your absence from the county of your voting residence on the date of any primary, general or special election, or are the spouse or dependent of that student, teacher or administrator if you maintain a common domicile, outside of the county of your voting residence, with such student, teacher or administrator.
-You are required to be away from your place of residence on any election day due to your employment as an employee of a member of the Mississippi congressional delegation, or are the spouse or dependent of such person if you shall be residing with such absentee voter away from the county of your voting residence.
-You have a temporary or permanent physical disability and, because of such disability, are unable to vote in person without substantial hardship to yourself or others, or your attendance at the voting place could reasonably cause danger to yourself or others
-You are the parent, spouse or dependent of a person with a temporary or permanent physical disability who is hospitalized outside of your county of residence or more than fifty (50) miles distant from your residence, if you will be with such person on election day; or
-You are a member of the Mississippi congressional delegation absent from Mississippi on election day, or are a spouse or dependent of such member of the congressional delegation.
